Contemporary pop music oftentimes iterates upon past creative works, encroaching upon the sanctity of the ‘original’. Present works, such as Doja Cat’s Paint The Town Red, is both a prominent case of this phenomena and the one scrutinized within this work, which depicts the ceaseless and harmful nature of derivative practice.
